Regenerative Design
Challenge:
The City of Amsterdam wanted to make broad prosperity tangible and practical for civil servants and policymakers. Broad prosperity encompasses not only the economy but also well-being, nature, health, employment, and sustainability. The challenge: how do you introduce this broad perspective into the organization in an accessible way and make it accessible for discussion?
Our role:
Protopia Studio facilitated a design sprint, managed the design process, and guided co-creation with stakeholders. A prototype was quickly developed that helps employees understand how their work relates to broader prosperity through statements.
Impact / result:
The vision clarifies how regenerative architecture and social programming can reinforce each other. The Temple of Tārā demonstrates how a retreat center can serve as a bridge between local and global, both strengthening communities and offering international visitors a deeper connection to the land and culture. The project connects spiritual development, women's empowerment, and regenerative principles in a holistic living and learning environment, thus providing a concrete example of how architecture and programming can contribute to both social and ecological transformation.
