Protopia Studio
Regenerative Design
Challenge:
Amsterdam wants all decision-making to systematically consider broad prosperity: well-being, health, social cohesion, ecology, and the economy. The challenge: how do you develop a practical tool that makes this thinking accessible and usable for policymakers?
Our role:
Protopia Studio facilitated a design sprint with civil servants and policymakers. A prototype of the Broad Prosperity Scan, which visualizes the effects of policy proposals across ten dimensions, was quickly developed.
Impact / result:
The Broad Prosperity Scan is now a tool the executive board and council can use to make integrated decisions. It supports broader thinking in policy development and highlights opportunities to make policies contribute more to the well-being of all Amsterdam residents.
